Since October 2019 article views and the number of downloaded documents (e.g. PDFs) are counted by the Open Journal Systems (OJS) software and displayed cumulatively in the article details page. Files associated with the same article (e.g. supplements) are counted individually.

How OJS counts article views and the number of downloaded documents exactly can be viewed directly at the Public Knowledge Project.

The plugin to display this information was developed at SUB Hamburg and can be downloaded from https://github.com/ohilbig01/simpleStatistics.

When collecting usage statistics, no personal data is stored. Privacy protection is thus guaranteed.
