The tradition of lamp donations, or "Deepa Daanam," holds a significant place in Tamil culture and religious practices. This article explores the cultural legacy of lamp donations at the Amritaghatesvara Temple in Thirukkadaiyur, based on epigraphical evidence. Lamp donations, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of light, both spiritually and literally, have been a vital part of temple rituals for centuries.
