Abstract

This paper explores the importance of adapting academic evaluation practices to meet the diverse needs of children with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) in Kerala's educational system. It examines these children's challenges in traditional evaluation methods and highlights the significance of implementing adaptations and accommodations to promote equitable assessment opportunities. Drawing upon research literature and educational best practices, the paper discusses various adaptations and accommodations that can be integrated into academic evaluation processes to support the learning and academic success of children with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) in Kerala. Furthermore, it provides insights into the cultural and linguistic considerations relevant to adapting evaluation practices in the Kerala context. This topic addresses the pressing need to enhance academic evaluation practices for children with specific learning disabilities in Kerala by focusing on adaptations and accommodations tailored to their unique needs. It provides an opportunity to explore innovative strategies for promoting inclusive education and improving educational outcomes for children with SLD in the region.
